We began HEAL, Incorporated only in November of 2005. Since then, we have gone
to India twice to distribute the donations we have collected. Below you will find pictures of
many of the students we have helped either in a photo taken during their interview or when
we visited their homes. These donations went towards paying tuitions for some technical
course-work, college degrees in a variety of fields, and a few nursing degrees.
These students have a variety of things in common. They are all very intelligent
students who stand above average in all their classes. We were really moved to learn that
these students studied in one room homes; many without electricity and furniture. All of
them come from families that make no more than $350 per year. Many of them have only
one parent with the other one being deceased. Most of their parents do not have permanent
jobs and live day to day as laborers in factories or construction sites. They live in single
room homes usually with no electricity and furniture. This might all sound like a story out
of a novel and we only wish it were. However, this is the reality of billions of people living
all around the world and all we are trying to do is make a difference to as many as we can.
So far, because of your kind donations, we have been able to educate a total of 86
students.
